- Is this a scam?
No. Carma Project partners directly with vehicle manufacturers or national safety programs to coordinate recall notification campaigns. - Are you selling license plate information?
We don’t sell personal information to any third parties. We only use it to check whether a vehicle has an open safety recall. - Vehicles owners already get notified by dealerships in the mail, so why do this?
A lot of times, recall notices do not reach the correct owner due to discrepancies in contact information with both manufacturer and DMV data. Some causes for this are change of ownership (such as used vehicle sales) and people not updating their mailing addresses when moving.
